Update on Mautic 5 release and how you can help to get it released faster
Work on Mautic 5 is well underway, this post explains the expected release schedule.
This out-of-cycle minor release provides Mautic users with support for PHP 8.0 in the 4.x series. It also includes bug fixes relating to tag import, the Marketplace and plugin installation.
Today we are delighted to share that Acquia has completed the process of open sourcing the Custom Objects plugin, a proprietary extension which was developed by Mautic Inc. in 2018 and has been a part of Acquia’s Campaign Studio since the acquisition in 2019.
The third feature-based release in the Mautic 4.x series brings about major changes in how you can manage your contacts and their many-to-many relations, beyond companies. Dynamic content filters are now available for plugins, such as the now open source plugin Custom Objects.
We have 31 new features/enhancements, 34 bug fixes and one security fix in this release of Mautic 4.2.0. Thanks to the support of several Mautic agencies and community contributors in our “Open Source Friday” sprints, we have been able to get through a lot with this release.
In Mautic 4.2 the Mautic Marketplace now enables you to install and manage plugins within Mautic, both in the user interface and at the command line. Read on to learn more about how it works, some caveats you need to know before using it, and how to get your plugins listed in the Marketplace.
With the last release in the Mautic 3.x series, 3.5.5, we’re saying goodbye to the 3.x series. In accordance with our release schedule, security fixes for the 3.x version of Mautic will be discontinued from 28th February 2022 and you are encouraged to migrate to Mautic 4.x.
